All six defendants accused of being involved in the beating and stabbing of a Hutchinson man back in February have now been bound over for trial.
The latest came this morning in front of Judge Joe McCarville when they allowed the defense to present evidence in the case against Jordon Leshore.
Police Detective Tyson Myers testified over interviews with the defendant that showed he had been cooperative, but not always honest.
But, Myers also testified that LeShore didn’t have any wounds to his hands as a result of punching someone. But on cross examination by the state, Myers told the court that he admitted striking Jeffrey Payne, during a polygraph test he took.
Judge Joe McCarville agreed there was probable cause to send the case against Jordon LeShore to arraignment and possible trial. The state was also allowed to add a fifth count of aggravated battery for allegedly striking Michelle Myers the night in question. He also revoked his probation in two previous cases and order him to prison for 30-months.
He along with the other five suspects are charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary. The five include Joseph LeShore, Sean Arevalo Mendoza, Desmond Cantu, Troy Bell and John Robert Cantu.
The attack on Payne occurred back on February 18, when these men allegedly broke into Payne’s home and physically attacked and stabbed him numerous times in the leg and torso.
The motive for the attack appears to be an incident involving the LeShore brothers mother where she may have been slapped so hard, she was knocked down.
All of the defendant’s now face arraignment on July 1.
