A 46-year-old Hutchinson man arrested Tuesday evening on charges of aggravated battery and aggravated assault didn’t make to court Wednesday morning apparently refusing to do so. Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen stated in court they would try to get Richard Manwarren Sr., in court Thursday morning.
It was around 9:40 p-m, Tuesday when Hutchinson Police Officers were dispatched to 314 Grandview for a report of a disturbance. When they arrived, they found that 37-year-old Randy Dowers had been stabbed one time and had multiple cuts to his hands. 49-year-old Kimberly Hopper alleges she has been threatened with a knife during the same incident.
Dowers was transported by Reno County EMS to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Manwarren was taken to jail with a bond set at 10-thousand dollars.
Manwarren is no stranger to the law having convictions for felony flee and elude, criminal deprivation of property and burglary. Those cases going back to 2005, and 1988.
