Reno County Sheriff Officials worked an injury accident around 11:50 a-m, Saturday morning on K-96 and Sand Creek Rd. This accident included a person trapped in their vehicle and the passenger was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver is 45-year-old Julie A Ehrstein and her passenger was 37-year-old Anthony Lee Brawner both of Hutchinson.
Ehrstein was conscious and speaking with emergency personnel and had to be freed from the vehicle by using the jaws of life and Anthony was ejected from the vehicle.
Ehrstein was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and Brawner was transported to Via Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita. Ehrstein was wearing her seatbelt and Brawner was not.
She was traveling east on the highway when she lost control of the vehicle due to the highway being covered with ice. The vehicle then left the roadway and went into the south ditch, became airborne and struck a utility pole The vehicle then came to rest facing west on it is wheels.
A witness stated that the vehicle was traveling at high rate of speed and started to fishtail then lost control.
