The new county sales numbers show the county collecting more taxes in February then in January of this year and again has the county ahead slightly over last year for the same two month period.
The numbers released Friday by County Treasure Jan Hull shows the county collected 417-thousand, 650-dollars in February compared to 369-thousand, 605-dollars in January. The total is also more then collected for February of last year when the county collected to 393-thousand, 656-dollars.
So far this year, the county has collected 787-thousand, 255-dollars, compared with 763-thousand, 243-dollars for the same two month period last year, a difference of just over 24-thousand dollars.
The February numbers reflect sales taxes collected in December, which most certainly is a factor for the increase over last month which showed taxes collected in November of last year.
