A 44-year-old Hutchinson man is jailed on a 15-thousand dollar bond after his arrest late last night for threatening three people with a baseball bat.
James Elliot was then taken to the hospital to be evaluated then taken to jail.
This being an apparent domestic situation with the bat.
He did make a court appearance where he was told of the potential charges and didn’t recall anything occurring. He said police took him to the hospital, but didn’t recall the incident in question although admitted he had seen the three victims in the case.
He also told Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen that he has some mental issues and hasn’t been able to purchase his meds, so hasn’t been on them for two weeks.
As for bond, he didn’t have much comment, but the state indicated he has a lot of prior crimes and also has failed to appear in other cases in the past.
Elliot was just place on community corrections back on February 7, in Sedgwick County for possession of drugs and driving while under the influence.
He’ll be back in court next Wednesday.
