Jana McCarron has been appointed to the position of Director of Planning and Development for the City of Hutchinson. McCarron has been working in the City of Hutchinson Planning Department for the past 10 months as a staff planner.
Prior to coming to Hutchinson, McCarron worked as the City Planner for the City of Rock Springs , Wyoming from 2007 to 2013. Prior to working in Rock Springs, she worked for the City of Modesto, CA in the planning department and city manager’s office.
McCarron has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and is a certified planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). In her previous position in Rock Springs, she was instrumental in streamlining operations and approval processes. She directed the preparation of a new Comprehensive Plan for the City of Rock Springs.
City Manager, John Deardoff says, “Jana brings a broad range of planning experience to the City which will be beneficial as we look to evaluate our processes, update our subdivision regulations and develop a new comprehensive plan. I am pleased to have Jana join the management team and lead us through some significant planning projects we will be undertaking.”
Ms. McCarron states, “I am excited to accept the position of Planning and Development Director for the City of Hutchinson. McCarron will assume the Director’s position immediately.
