A 21-year-old Hutchinson man convicted and granted community corrections for his part in a number of church burglaries back in 2012 and has several cases pending involving burglary, and possession of stolen property was arrested again Sunday evening.

Jordon Schmucker was arrested for allegedly being involved with a burglary west of Hutchinson. He was caught with the gun when sheriff deputies began investigating the burglary and located Schmucker at a home not far from where the burglary occurred. He was found sleeping in a back room and under the mattress was the gun. He said two others allegedly involved in the case had guns, but eventually it was known that Schmucker was involved in the burglary and that is when the gun was taken.

Schmucker was arrested on warrants including a corrections violation where according to the Kansas Department of Corrections, is listed as an absconder. His bond set at 30-thousand for the latest arrest, but totals 45-thousand, 500-dollars.

Also arrested was 18-year-old Joshua David Sellers who is charged with burglary,. theft and interference with law enforcement. He apparently struggled with law enforcement while being arrested and had to be taken to the ground. He’s free on an 8-thousand dollar bond.

Sheriff deputies were taken to a location in South Hutchinson where other items from the burglary were found. All items except some cash and one gun were recovered.

Both men will be back in court once formal charges are filed.
