The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science staff will begin an informational and recruitment tour with eight trips in January, February and March, including one in Hutchinson.

A postcard from KAMS Director Ron Keller recently went out to Kansas high school students inviting them to attend one of the informational sessions.

Students who complete KAMS receive a high school diploma from their high school and also receive a minimum of 68 hours of college credit from Fort Hays State University. Tuition, fees and books for 68 credit hours at KAMS are free for students attending a Kansas public high school.

The tour will stop in Hutchinson on February. 6, at the Hutchinson Public Library beginning at 6 p-m.

The sessions are free. Students who are beginning the seventh grade through sophomore year in high school are encouraged to attend. Space is limited, so the academy asks that parents RSVP by calling 785-628-4690. Students and their parents can also schedule individual visits by contacting the office at the same number.
