The number of traffic fatalities in Reno county dropped by nearly half in 2013 compared to last year. And it’s
the first time there have been less than 10 fatalities in the county in at least 6 years. According to preliminary data released from K-dot, there were 6 fatalities in Reno county in 2013, compared with 11 last year. 2011 also saw 11 fatalities.
There were 13 in both 2010 and 2009 and 12 in 2008. The 6 fatalities was still the most in the area other than Sedgwick county. There were 5 traffic deaths in both McPherson and Pratt counties, 3 in Harvey county and 2 in both Kingman and Stafford counties. The number of traffic deaths in the state also dropped to less than 400 this past year.
