While the state unemployment rate dropped to its lowest level in nearly 5-years, we now have the numbers from the Kansas Department of Labor for Hutchinson and Reno County.
The rate for the month of November here in Hutchinson is down to 5%, that from 5.6% in October and certainly better then the 6.1% in November of last year.
The rate in Reno County stands at 4.1%, down from 4.6% in October and 5% in November of last year.
One thousand, 384 residents of the county are still listed as unemployed with most of those in Hutchinson.
Other surrounding county rates for November include Harvey County at 4.1%, Kingman County at 3.6, McPherson County’s rate is at 5.2%, Rice and Stafford Countiess are both at 3.5%, Pratt County at 3% and Sedgwick County is at 5.2%.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 5.1 percent, down from 5.6 percent in October and down from 5.5 percent in November 2012.
