HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old woman arrested after a domestic disturbance where she reportedly set fire to clothing and other household items was back before a judge Wednesday for the reading of formal charges.
Melissa Bell is charged with arson, criminal damage to property, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The victim reported clothes that belonged to her and her son were taken out of a closet and set on fire. This happened after the two got into an argument. There was also damage to a TV and the mattress in the bedroom.
The arrest came just after 9 p.m. on June 5.
Bell has prior criminal convictions for criminal threat and criminal use of a weapon.
