Three people were taken to area hospitals after a two vehicle accident on K-96 east of Haven Tuesday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 51-year-old Mark Heimerman of Andale was northbound on Worthington Road in extreme eastern Reno County, while a vehicle driven by 70-year-old John Pierce of Sterling was eastbound on K-96. Heimerman apparently started into the intersection failing to yield to the Pierce vehicle, striking it and causing it to roll over. The vehicle landed on its drivers side.
Hiemerman was transported to the V-A Hospital in Wichita, while Pierce and a passenger, 66-year-old Gloria Pierce also of Sterling were both transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. A second passenger was not injured.
The accident occurring around 8 a-m, about three miles east of Haven.
