HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Just before 6 p.m. Sunday, Hutchinson Fire crews responded to 2200 E. 11th for a report of a structure fire.
On arrival, fire officials found heavy black smoke from the eaves of the commercial building. They were able to gain access to the facility and locate the fire and extinguish the fire.
Fire crews controlled the fire in less than 10 minutes.
Fire damage was limited to the main fire area, with smoke damage throughout the rest of the units.
Fire crews remained on scene for approximately one hour.
Carelessly discarded hot ashes were the cause of the fire.
