It ended up being a lot of activity in a Hutchinson neighborhood which ended with law enforcement leaving the area with no arrest and no one being hurt.
Police got a report around 1:12 p-m, that a man had a gun at an apartment building at 701 North Monroe and may have hurt someone. This coming from a third party out of county. Police, Sheriff and Highway Patrol troopers responded and began searching the area with guns drawn looking for this individual.
Officer Darrin Cox says they eventually went inside the building and never located the individual who he says does have a history with law enforcement, but is not on parole or probation and had no outstanding warrants. He says he did speak with the individual by phone, who he didn’t identify. That led to a stand down by law enforcement.
He says all weapons thought to be in the home were accounted for and early reports of someone being hurt turned out to be untrue.
No charges will be made in the matter which ended about 2-hours after it started, again in the 700 block of North Monroe.
