The Reno County Sheriff’s Office along with the Salina Police Dept are working a case of an individual being beaten and kidnapped overnight Thursday night or early Friday morning in Reno County.
Sheriff Randy Henderson says they don’t feel that the general public is in any danger at this time, and if they did, he would be putting additional information out.
The victim is an adult male and reported the crime when he was able to get loose. Reno County Detectives and Patrol are running down leads in both Reno and Saline Counties.
The Salina Post is reporting that the vehicle involved is a Grey 1998 Olds Cutlass with Kansas license plate 544 ECO. Initial reports are that a victim had been tied up and jumped out of the vehicle, though the Salina Police Department was not able to officially confirm that. That event happened in Salina at around 10:30 a-m Friday morning.
Sheriff Henderson says this is an active investigation and that he cannot release any further information at this time.
They have no one in custody, and according to the Salina Post, the suspect might be headed to Hays.
