The man Hutchinson police arrested in association with the city’s latest homicide did not make a court appearance Thursday morning as expected.
Apparently, neither the courts or the D-A’s Office received any paper work on the arrest of 36-year-old Michael Brisco of 426 East 8th. He was arrested around 7:30 p-m, Wednesday evening for the killing of 26-year-old Sem Adrien. Local Attorney Sam Kepfield showed up in court also thinking Brisco would appear by video from the jail. Kepfield has represented Brisco in the past.
The victim had been found by residents suffering with a gunshot wound late Monday evening in a small parking lot at 8th & Plum. Adrien was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he was then pronounced dead.
Police are staying pretty quiet on the charges he was arrested on which includes 1st degree murder and criminal possession of a firearm. Bond in the case is currently set at 501-thousand, 500-dollars.
Brisco is no stranger to the law having served time in prison for drugs with a conviction in 2002 and another in 2003. Other convictions include aggravated battery and aggravated robbery for cases in Shawnee County.
The investigation is still ongoing according to Hutchinson Police Captain Troy Hoover and anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Police Department at 694-2816.
