Police continue the investigation into the shooting late Monday night that left an Illinois man dead.

Police were called to a small parking lot at 8th and Plum around 11:30 p-m, and found 26-year-old Sem Adrein, of Evanston Ill., in the parking lot with a gun shot wound. He was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Small evidence tags could be seen in the parking lot as the entire area had been blocked off. However, the area was open again Tuesday afternoon.

Adrein was recently employed by the State Fair as a set up man for the grand stand. He posted on his facebook page on September 7, “I got all access to all the concerts here at the Kansas State Fair because I help put together the stage, lights and sounds, but I don’t even like country music…who is Toby keith?..”

Adrien had become well known by law enforcement over the past month with reports of criminal trespass on September 8, public intoxication on August 31, another criminal trespass on August 21, and criminal damage to property and public intoxication on August 15. In this case, an employee of Sunflower Inn, at 322 E 4th reported a black male damaging property on the business. Adrein was advised of criminal trespass from the business during that incident.

And according to the Evanston, Illinois Patch Newspaper, Adrien had been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on March 20. He was also charged with aggravated assault in July 2012, after he allegedly pointed a weapon at someone in a parking lot. At the time, he was living in the 1700 block of McDaniel Avenue in Evanston.

According to his facebook page, he was of Haitian decent.

Police have not released any additional details of the shooting.
