TOPEKA, Kan. — The unemployment rate for March in Hutchinson saw a pretty good drop. It was at 4.4 percent, down from 4.9 percent in February, according to the latest numbers from the Kansas Department of Labor.
The rate for Reno County is at 4.3 percent, down from 4.7 percent in February. There were 1,329 residents of the county reported to be out of work last month, down from 1,402 in February. Most of those out of work were in the city of Hutchinson.
All of the surrounding counties also had pretty good numbers, the highest being 4.9 percent in Kingman County.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the entire state was 3.9 percent. This was down from 4.0 percent in February and from 4.3 percent in March 2015.
