HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Public Library promises inspiring spaces for patrons with its bright, colorful and modern new brand image. The library will be unveiling a new strategy to increase awareness of modern library programming and services.
“Everyone knows the library has books, but not everyone knows that we also offer computer training, classes on a wide range of subjects, plus research and programs for all ages and interests.” Gregg Wamsley, Hutchinson Public Library Director, said.
The new brand identity and new logo will be formally unveiled in a ceremony in front of the library at 10:00 a.m. on April 11.
“By making our marketing efforts and the look and feel of the library brighter, more modern, inspiring, and comfortable, we hope to reach even more individuals and families in the community with programs and services to help them explore, discover and connect,” Wamsley said.
The library staff chose National Library Week, April 11 through April 15, to launch the new brand image and showcase the library’s services and programs. Events during the week include the logo reveal Monday, breakfast served on your way to work from 7:00-9:00 a.m. Wednesday, and on Friday, coffee from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. All week long patrons can participate in activities including giveaways, tours, workshops, special displays, story times and book discussions.
The new brand image reveal coincides with remodeling projects the Library has planned this year. Renovations to both entrances, the children’s library restrooms, and the children’s story time room are slated to begin around May 1. These projects are funded by the Library’s Capital Improvement Fund, and no new taxes are needed, and no debt will be incurred.
