HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Nearly 500 people are expected to attend this year’s 10th Annual Main Street Hops for TECH event on Friday, May 6, in Downtown Hutchinson. The event will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The event is in conjunction with the Brewmaster’s Dinner on April 7 and is expected to raise over $25,000 for TECH, which provides services for clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Reno County.
The event will focus on the sunflower state this year, featuring 15 different craft beers from three Kansas breweries: Tallgrass Brewing Company, Walnut River Brewing and Defiance Brewery.
“You don’t have to be a beer enthusiast to appreciate the 15 different craft beers offered at each of the downtown venues,” Lacey Mills, Event Coordinator for TECH, said. “City Beverage will work with each Hops venue to create a food pairing that brings out the full flavors in each beer.” City Beverage, Downtown Hutchinson and Cargill have been longtime supporters of the annual event. Bob Bush, owner of City Beverage says, “We support many non-profit events but Hops is a favorite as we get the public to sample new and unique beers in a safe atmosphere while financially helping our community’s best advocate for children and adults with disabilities.
“Participating venues include Alexander’s Jewelers, Apron Strings, Armstrong’s Antiques, Bluebird Books, Cabinet Connections, Café 21, Details Event Planning, First National Bank, Pools Plus, RE-NU, Simply Eventful, Smith’s Market, Toy Depot, TECH/Wiley Plaza Manske & Associates, and Westphal Jewelers.
Tickets for Main Street Hops for TECH go on sale Monday, April 4, and can be purchased online at techinc.org or by calling 620-663-1596. Tickets are $40.
