HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County 911 reports that numerous calls are coming in regarding smoke and possible fires in the county. While there have been a few small fires, dispatch says the smoke is from the large grass fire in Barber and Comanche Counties that has been burning since yesterday.
The Reno County Health Department also advises that if you’re sensitive to smoke that you may want to wear a painter’s mask or something similar. With strong winds, your eyes can also become irritated from the smoke and dust. The Health Department suggests eye drops or cool water to flush the eyes of any matter.
