HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 46-year-old man who is apparently homeless made a first appearance Wednesday morning on a charge of aggravated battery after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument Tuesday night.
Derrin Lovell was arrested after police were called around 9:30 p.m. to the 500 block of East F on the report of a disturbance and discovered that the 43-year-old victim had been stabbed in the left forearm. The victim was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where he was treated and given stitches.
Also arrested was 46-year-old Lisa Mederos, who was arrested for battery after she held a woman in a headlock until police arrived.
Both made court appearances and the bond for Lovell was left at $5,000. The bond for Mederos was left at $8,000. Hers is higher because of a probation violation.
Lovell is listed as an absconder from parole for criminal convictions of aggravated battery, theft, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Earlier convictions include aggravated battery and intimidation of a witness. He was paroled back in May of last year.
Both will be back in court on March 30 for the formal reading of any charges.
