A member of the Hutchinson School Board has been named Kansas Head Start’s Parent of the Year.
Stephanie King, who joined the Hutchinson School Board in July, was named Kansas Head Start “Parent of the Year.”
King was named earlier this week by the Kansas Head Start Association for achievements and services contributed during the 2012-13 school year.
King’s award celebrates Head Start’s most important partner, parents. Individuals nominated must have a child enrolled in the current year and have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.
As a state winner, King is part of the National Head Start Association’s national awards program. Nominees for the NHSA awards are chosen through a multi-step process, beginning with the local program and going through the State and Regional Head Start Associations before being considered on the national level.
