SOUTH HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One of three men after a search warrant was served at a home in South Hutchinson is scheduled for court Friday for a status hearing.
27-year-old Brandell Chalmers facing trial for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and other charges as a result of that arrest.
It was back in March of last year when deputies with the Reno County Sheriff’s Office and South Hutchinson Police responded to home for a noise complaint. When they arrived, they heard loud music and made contact with owner of the home. While talking with the occupants, deputies noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the home. The Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the residence with a K-9 and detected narcotics coming from one of the vehicles as well as the home.
A search warrant was then obtained and served on the vehicle and residence. Two firearms, 260 grams of marijuana, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia were seized.
Also arrested in that case was 27-year-old Michael Alexander of Hutchinson and 26-year-old Ryker Duncan of McPherson on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
