It will be one more week before we learn where the cases against a 35-year-old Hutchinson man arrested twice for alleged drug sales as well as a third arrest for indirect contempt is headed.
Jason Hadley who has sat in the county jail for over a year faces two counts for the sale of methamphetamine and one count of simple possession of meth, allegedly less then a gram each time. Other charges include three counts of unlawful use of a communications device, namely a telephone to arrange a drug transaction, no drug tax stamp and intimidation of witness. The last count being a misdemeanor offense.
These alleged transactions occurring on three occasions. All three times. law enforcement used a confidential informant to allegedly meet Hadley for the drug buys. The first was on July 14, the second on July 29, and the third time on July 30 of 2012.
Back in March, Defense Attorney Charlie O’Hara had indicated that there were no plea agreement in the works but said one could still be worked out. The case has been pretty much in limbo since that time with Hadley sitting in jail since last summer and again Friday, O’Hara asked for another continuance saying they are still trying to work something out with the state.
So, maybe next week, the cases may start moving again. His bond remains at 515-thousand dollars.
