Marijuana bust 4-25-14

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 33-year-old man who waived his preliminary hearing and entered a plea in a marijuana distribution case is scheduled for sentencing Thursday.

Gerardo Saucedo entered pleas as charged. Deputy District Attorney Tom Stanton says there were no deals offered in the case.

He was arrested after a search warrant was served on his home and he was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, and no drug tax stamp.

He had around 90 pounds of marijuana in brick form believed to be from Mexico. But they also allegedly found numerous containers of high-grade marijuana that were found scattered throughout the home, as well as new packaging materials, a digital scale and some weapons.

Sentencing in the case is scheduled in front of Judge Tim Chambers. It is a presumptive prison case.
