HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police are again advising residents of a scam involving taxes where a person calls you and claims to be with the IRS.
They noted on Facebook that these con artists are calling residents to inform them that they owe money and that they have 45 minutes to take action or a lawsuit will occur.
Again, as we have told you in the past, the IRS contacts tax payers by mail, not over the phone and they will never demand money right away.
Police are asking that you don’t disclose any personal information to this caller and/or give them any money.
If you have concerns or questions, you can call the Wichita IRS office at 316-651-2102 or go to www.irs.gov.
