HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 43-year-old man was granted a $7,500 signature bond after he made a first appearance on three counts of battery – domestic violence.
Chris Gingerich apparently got into an argument with one of the alleged victims and it escalated to becoming violent. A nine year old child present at the time tried to get between them and Gingrich allegedly grabbed the child by the neck and got him out of the way. He is also allegedly struck a five-year-old across the face who was also trying to break it up.
The argument at some point ended up in the kitchen where the female victim was struck by a Pyrex dish or bowl causing injury.
Although Gingerich was granted an O-R bond, he was also told to have no contact with the three victims. He’s expected back in court on Feb. 25 for the reading of formal charges.
