HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Of the ten components that make up the first round of bids for the Hutchinson Sports Arena project two local contractors will get a share of the work.
The concrete work for the project will be done by Miller Home Builders of Hutchinson at $1,222,885. The other was for the dirt excavation, with Paul’s Excavating awarded the work at a bid of just over $681 thousand. Most of the remaining bid winners were from the Wichita area with a couple from out of state.
Construction Manager JE Dunn says they were pleased with the regional interest in the bid package, and expect more local companies bidding on the second phase of the project which involves 24 different components to bid on.
