HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 24-year-old Wichita man who has been on intensive supervision with the Kansas Department of Corrections is being held in the Reno County Correctional Facility with a very high bond.
Drew A. Brown was arrested at Hobby Lobby at 1500 E. 11th for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, forgery, making false information and identity fraud.
According to statements made in court, he was in possession of multiple ID’s and several debit cards, only one belonging to him, and checks, none of which contained his name.
His bond is set at $413,500, but only $13,000 of that was for the latest arrest. The rest is for bonds in Sedgwick County.
He may have been purchasing items at a Hobby Lobby in Wichita using forged checks, then trying to return those items at the store here in Hutchinson.
Fraud is nothing new for Brown, he’s been on Community Corrections out of Sedgwick County for criminal use of a financial card, two convictions for identity theft, possession of drugs and forgery.
He’s expected back in court here next week for the formal reading of charges.
