YODER, Kan. – It could have been much worse for a driver on Yoder Road, but it only resulted in minor injuries.
Just after 3 p.m., emergency officials were dispatched to Yoder and Longview Roads for an injury accident.
Fifty-five-year-old John L Blevins Jr. of Hutchinson reported that he was traveling north on Yoder Road when he observed a white van that appeared to be losing control traveling south. The white van then crossed the center line and struck Blevins’ 2010 Mack semi truck.
The driver of the van, 66-year-old Rondell E. Love of Wichita, told Reno County Sheriff Deputies that he was driving south when he hit a patch of ice, causing him to lose control. After losing control, he crossed the center line, striking the semi. After hitting the semi, he came to rest in the west ditch.
Both men were wearing their seat belts, no airbags deployed, and only minor injuries were reported by Love. He was treated at the scene and refused transport.
