Icy highways in Kansas on Tuesday-KDOT
HARVEY COUNTY – Three people were injured in an accident just before 1p.m. on Tuesday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Chevy Silverado driven by Remigio Basurto-Ayala, 36, Wichita, was eastbound on Dutch Avenue three miles west of Hesston.
The driver lost control on the icy road. The truck slid into the north ditch and struck a tree.
Basurto-Ayala and passengers Charles Maryman, 72, and Juan Vega-Araujo, 33, both of Wichita, were transported to Newman Medical Center.
All were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
