HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson woman charged in two drug distribution cases entered “guilty” pleas in both cases.
The first case goes back to Feb. 12, 2014 where Lisa McHaley was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine, no tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. The state alleged that she had between 25 and 450 grams of marijuana on that date. She entered pleas to the first two charges and the other two were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
The other case goes back on Aug. 21, 2014 where she was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package. She entered pleas to both charges.
Officers says they found a zip-close bag of a crystal substance which field tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed about 20 grams which was found in McHaley’s purse. There was also a lot of cash in that purse as well, according to the arrest report. Officers say they also found packaging materials, a scale and owe sheets in her bedroom.
With her entering the plea, sentencing will be on Feb. 5, in front of Judge Joe McCarville and the defense will recommend community corrections. The state apparently won’t oppose that.
