The Wiley Building project appears to be a go again. After some 11th hour talks, both building owner George Nerhan, and developer Jack Manske were able to come to an agreement to keep the original proposal in place, thus saving what could have been the last hope to keep the nearly 100 year old building a viable part of the city’s downtown.
City manager John Deardoff says both parties have agreed to turn the deed over on Monday. “Were very pleased were were apparently able to resolve our contract dispute with George Nerhan for the purchase of the Wiley Building”, said Jack Manske of Manske and Associates. “We appreciate the cooperation of Mr. Nerhan and the assistance of city manager John Deardoff, Todd Brown of Reno County Abstract and Title and Attorney Brad Dillon…which enable us to continue with our plans to renovate this historic landmark”.
Manske says they are about a month behind due to the delay in resolving the issue but feel they will still be ready to start construction by the end of December.
