HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The preliminary hearing for Brennan Trass, charged with first-degree murder is scheduled to resume Tuesday in Reno County District Court.
Trass is accused in the shooting death of 24-year-old Jose Morales, who was found on the floor of a residence back on Aug. 17 with multiple gunshot wounds. He died about 90 minutes later at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
The hearing is to determine if there is probable cause to send the case to trial. The hearing went into recess because a video that the defense apparently didn’t have as the hearing began wanted time to review it.
They had apparently attempted to show the video earlier during the initial hearing, but it turned out to be an audio recording instead.
The hearing is scheduled in front of District Judge Trish Rose.
