HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A local man was before District Judge Joe McCarville for a preliminary hearing where he was bound over for trial in two cases.
In one case, Timothy L. Howard is charged with three counts of stalking and three counts of violation of a protection from abuse order. The order is from Municipal Court out of Spokane, Wash.
The first two charges reflect contact with the alleged victim April 9, the second two charges for contact on May 6 and May 9. The state in the complaint alleges that, with the contact, Howard may have placed the victim in reasonable fear for her own safety or the safety of a family member.
In the other case, Howard is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. That case goes back to Oct. 2. He was arrested along with 25-year-old Kelly M. Shackelford at his home in the 700 block of Carey Street.
With him being bound over in both cases, he’ll be arraigned early next month.
