HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 32-year-old ex-con arrested at Walmart earlier this year for allegedly being in possession of meth, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia all with intent to distribute as well as no tax stamp is scheduled to be in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
Jerry L. Mahan II was apparently sitting on a bench and left a black case on the bench as he left. Someone found it and turned it in to customer service. They noticed that the contents didn’t look legal, so when Mahan came back to claim the case, police were called in. The case allegedly contained the meth and cocaine both at least 3.5 grams, but less than 100 grams.
Mahan was paroled back in January after serving time for drug distribution charges for a case in 2007. Other convictions involving drugs go back to a case in 2001.
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, however as with all hearings, they are subject to change.
