HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 36-year-old man made a first appearance in court Wednesday for suspicion of battery and criminal damage to property.
Jamie Black faces the charges for allegedly throwing the victim to the ground Tuesday morning and then punching her with a closed fist on various parts of her body. A Reno County Sheriff Deputy could apparently see the bruising from where she had been struck. He also caused some damage at the residence in the 200 block of Westland Drive, which is west of Hutchinson. That according to statements made in court
Law enforcement caught up with Black near the intersection of Nickerson Boulevard and Hendicks. They found him walking on the railroad tracks and he allegedly admitted he was under the influence of drugs.
Bond in the case was lowered during the first appearance from $2,750 to $1,500 and he’ll be back in court on Dec. 9. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.
