HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Fire Crews responded to a structure fire early Tuesday morning in the 700 block of East B.
When fire units arrived, they were advised that there was light smoke showing from the attic vents. Crews entered the structure and located the fire, which was controlled quickly.
The fire was found in the attic and appeared to have been smoldering for some time. The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes.
Nine occupants were home at the time of the fire, but there were no injuries. Damage was contained to two rooms on the second floor with damage estimates at approximately $10,000.
Hutchinson Fire Department responded with 6 units that were on scene for approximately two hours.
The cause of the fire has been ruled electrical with the call coming in just after 4 a.m.
