Third person charged in drug distribution case

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A third person has been charged in a methamphetamine distribution case from back in October.

Tena Nelson was been charged by the state with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute meth, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction and personal use paraphernalia

She was apparently present along with two men when the Reno County Drug Unit a search warrant on home in the 700 block of Brookside Dr. This occurring on Oct. 21.

The men arrested include 60-year-old Willard LaGrange who is also charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and personal use drug paraphernalia

Fifty-eight-year-old David Danner faces less serious charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the search, they drug unit alleges that they found 3.6 grams of methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia, including packaging materials and a small amount of marijuana. The meth was split into several small baggies, which weighed about 2 grams each. Most of what they found was allegedly in the room belonging to Lagrange.

In court, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen declined to reduce the $10,000 bond for Nelson and her case will now be scheduled for a waiver-status docket in front of Judge Allen on Dec. 2.

The cases for the LaGrange and Danner are scheduled for a waiver-status docket in front of Judge Joe McCarville for Dec. 2.
