HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 37-year-old Hutchinson man was before Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen Wednesday morning where he was read the charges in two new cases. Plus the issues surrounding a third case against Brandon Matthew Mounce was also brought up.
He’s charged with one case with two counts of failing to register as a sex offender because of a conviction for sexual assault in Dallas in 2007. He failed to register according to the state on Dec. 17 and Dec. 31, 2014.
The second case involves him failing to appear before District Judge Trish Rose. It charges him with aggravated failure to appear in case where he’s charged with attempted aggravated arson.
He apparently failed to appear in court on Jan. 13, 2015. The state then managed to get his bond forfeited and he failed to turn himself in.
In the attempted arson case, he’s alleged to have set a pair of jeans on fire in a building where others were present, that being Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. This allegedly occurring on July 7, 2014.
His bond is set at $123,000, and the two recently filed cases will move to a waiver status docket on Nov. 18.
The appearance in the pending attempted aggravated arson case will come in front of Judge Trish Rose.
