HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Just a heads up, several local residents have received calls from people saying they are from the City of Hutchinson utilities, sewer, water and refuse or from the Hutchinson Police Department.
The caller tells those residents that their services will be cut off or they will be arrested unless they go and get a money order, usually from Walmart. Police say this is a scam.
Police Lt. Thad Pickard suggest that you always question it if someone is wanting you to get a money order.
The City of Hutchinson will always have you pay at the utilities office, by mail, or online.
All fines owed to municipal court is collected through Municipal court at 210 W 1st.
If you have questions on whether you owe money, you can contact the utility department at 694-2621 and Municipal court at 694-2835, both during normal business hours, or the Police Department at 694-2816.
