The races, sponsored by Mattress Firm, are held daily at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 2:30 pm, 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. and are sure to bring a smile to your face as they race to the finish line.
Hutchinson Correctional Facility K-9 Demonstration
11 a.m. – Bretz & Young Injury Lawyers Arena
They will put on a demonstration of their unique skills. Learn about the traits service dogs possess and breeds that often make the best service dogs.
Master Sgt. Tom Canfield, the officer in charge of the unit, will explain training techniques and programs that the dogs must participate in, in order to perform at the correctional facility. There will be a public question and answer segment about the K-9 unit with the Hutchinson Correctional Facility at the end of the demonstration.
Seed Survivor
Daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Technology Building
Seed Survivor to the Kansas State Fair! Seed Survivor is a plant nutrient classroom for all ages. This free, curriculum-based learning experience encourages children in grades first through sixth to master the elements that plants need to grow.
Everyone will be excited to explore multi-media and virtual reality games, a sunflower seed planting station, talking walls and much more. Located in the Technology Building, kids will have a chance to play at each station. Stations focus on water, light, soil, nutrients and growth and are complete with exploring multi-media and virtual reality games, a sunflower seed planting station and even talking walls.
Adults and children alike will leave Seed Survivor with a newfound green thumb!
