Clydesdales clop through Kingman

KINGMAN, Kan. — My 93.1 visited Kingman yesterday for the arrival of the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The majestic horses paraded through the town of Kingman before stopping at White’s Foodliner.Signage

While waiting on the Clydesdales, My 93.1 visited with many people who make Kingman great. Mayor Charlus Bishop talked about the many great reasons to visit, or even live, in Kingman. He also hinted that great things are coming to the city soon in the form of new businesses. Emily Graf, city manager, thanked Bob and Ann Bush of City Beverage in Hutchinson for making the event possible. Ann mentioned that seeing these beautiful horses never gets old. Bob and Ann also made the live broadcast a possibility.

Kingman Chamber of Commerce Director Cassie Smith highlighted upcoming events in the city for the holiday season while Janice Smith reminded listeners how positive the Kingman Historic Theatre has been for the community. Janice said the theatre is helping in the effort to keep downtown alive. Cindy Austin and Garrett Goetz of Kingman High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) highlighted their organization as it prepares to host the district conference and sell Red Wheel items.

John of Newberry Family Motors checked in to reflect on how surreal it was these horses we’ve all seen on TV were actually live in-person. John touched on the importance of family in such a tight community. Jake Graber of the Kingman Progress Board highlighted the purpose of the group and what it plans to do next.

Area media outlets joined the festivity to get a glimpse of the Clydesdales. Children of all ages gazed in awe and wonder. A Budweiser film crew was also present. They shot footage of the day in hopes of using clips for future commercials.

Ann Bush of City Beverage in Hutchinson helped make the appearance a possibility. Cassie Smith stopped by to highlight upcoming events. Charlus Bishop mentioned the many reasons to visit Kingman.
