HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 20-year-old Hutchinson man arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon has been formally charged.
Dakota Joy appeared from the Reno County Jail where he was read the charge. The state is accusing him of going to a home in the 500 block of Grandview and yelling at one of the occupants. He was allegedly holding a knife at the time. The intended victim, 19-year-old Zane Mountain, told police that he felt threatened by Joy. But, in court Joy denied that this alleged incident even occurred.
He’s jailed on a $2,500. bond, but he requested an reduction which was denied. Judge Joe McCarville indicating that he had lowered it once and wasn’t going to do it again.
The case will now move to a future waiver-status docket.
