HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 37-year-old man charged by the state with distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia used to cultivate or manufacture a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Ryan Peterson was arrested on the charges on May 23, 2014, after a drug search was conducted at a home he shares with Lacey Nelson. The home is located in the 300 block of North Chemical. They allege that they found a Pyrex dish with a white powdery substance, a digital scale with meth residue and new packaging materials. They also apparently found some marijuana. Peterson has a prior conviction for possession of marijuana.
With him waiving his right to preliminary hearing, that means the case could go to trial unless he enters some type of an agreement with the state.
