WICHITA Kan. – The 40-year-old escapee from an Oklahoma prison who was arrested with a gun in Kansas was sentenced Thursday to 53 months in federal prison. The sentence will be served consecutively to his prison term in Oklahoma.
Lance D. Colbert who was an inmate at the Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown, Okla., pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm following a felony conviction.
On March 11, 2015, two days after escaping from the Oklahoma prison, Colbert was arrested in Spivey, in Kingman County. He had a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver in his pants pocket.
Colbert was convicted in the shooting deaths of two people in the early 1990s.
He escaped along with 54-year-old Dwayne Motsenbocker escaped through a hole in the fence at the prison in Okla. Motsenbocker has multiple robbery convictions.
Motsenbocker was also captured after an altercation in a Wichita store.
