HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 24-year-old Hutchinson man jailed after he allegedly fled a Hutchinson Police officer last week was scheduled to make a first appearance Monday morning, but he apparently, at some point, appeared in court last Friday.
Zachary Thompson is now charged with felony flee and elude, interference with law enforcement and driving while suspended.
He was stopped by an officer in the 1000 block of Cochran on a traffic issue, but then fled the scene on Aug. 10.
He was later arrested in the 700 block of East 10th after he apparently struck a parked vehicle at that location.
He was at one time accused of “abuse of a child,” in a case from 2011, but entered a “no contest” plea to an amended charge of aggravated battery.
Thompson has served time for attempted aggravated robbery, while the state dropped the second charge of aggravated assault. He was also convicted of aggravated battery for a case where he allegedly struck someone with a board. Those cases are from 2011. He was paroled back on July 15.
He’s free on a bond of $3,250 and his case now moves to a waiver-status docket.
