The man arrested for aggravated battery during a party in the early morning hours of August 4, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
James “Jonathon Allen” Dean was arrested in a case where a man was taken to an area hospital after he was allegedly stabbed, beaten and possibly run over by Dean during a party east of Hutchinson.
It was around 2:15 a-m, when Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies and Reno County EMS were dispatched to 11304 East 30th for the report of a stabbing.
A large party was taking place and two men decided to go behind the house to an open field to drive around in the mud. While in the field, Jeffrey Kinney reported that Dean punched him, stabbed him, and possibly ran him over. Kinney was able to flee and make it back to the house but was in serious medical condition for the stab and other wounds.
Dean is no stranger to law enforcement having been convicted of aggravated robbery in McPherson County in 2002 and attempted theft in Harvey County in 2003.
He is scheduled to appear in front of Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen Tuesday for the formal reading of any charges filed by the state.
