HUTCHINSON, Kan. – One person was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle accident northwest of Hutchinson.
According to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, 72-year-old Christopher Wagner was traveling northbound on Hendricks with a passenger, Kimberly Thompson, in his vehicle. He apparently ran through a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Jennie Stock who was traveling west on 56th. The two vehicles collided and ended up in the ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection. All three were able to exit the vehicle and were assisted by other drivers.
When officers arrived on scene, Thompson was sitting on the ground complaining of pain but refusing EMS response at that time. But, she then began complaining of severe pain and Reno County EMS was called out and transported her to the hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were towed away due to damage. Christopher was cited for running the stop sign.
The accident occurred just before 6 p.m.
